Welcome to the SHARP MATH class!  I want to welcome the new 6th grade students to Forest Heights Middle School!   We use the Connected Math Curriculum which allows students to use higher level thinking skills to solve mathematical problems.  We will also use a variety of supplemental Math materials to ensure students are achieving at their highest ability.   I'm looking forward to great things this year in SHARP MATH!

Supplies needed to SHARP MATH:  One and a half inch 3-ring binder, 5 divider tabs, pencils, 3 ring notebook paper.  I will have a small classroom supplies store from my room this year so students will be able to replenish their supplies throughout the 2003-2004 school year.

The first module for 6th grade students in Math will be "Data About Us."  This module looks in depth at collecting and analyzing data.  There will be a project assigned at the end of Data About Us.  Class Time will be alotted for groups to complete their projects.  It'll be a great learning time for all!
